Melissa McCarthy's recent 45-pound weight loss was due to a reduced carb, high-protein diet, Design and Trend reported Nov. 13. The 5-foot-2 McCarthy, who previously weighed 265 pounds, now Instant Slim Tengda Diet Pills weighs 220 pounds after cutting bread and pasta from her diet.

"Melissa has been on the high-protein, low carb diet," said a source. "She's been making small changes to see big results."

McCarthy didn't specify which reduced carb diet she followed, although celebrities for example Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox and Tim McGraw have forfeit dramatic amounts of weight around the Atkins, ketogenic and Paleo diets. In 2013, McCarthy was fat-shamed by movie reviewer Rex Reed, who called her a "tractor-sized female hippo" in his film review of "Identity Thief." Reed called Melissa a "gimmick comedian who has devoted her short career to obesity and obnoxious."

Reed was slammed for extending his scathing film review to some personal attack on McCarthy's body. The fat-shaming comments were especially hurtful because Melissa has long been open about her weight loss struggles.

As a result of Reed's comments, McCarthy said she felt sorry for fat-shaming haters. Melissa, who'll star in "The Heat 2" opposite Sandra Bullock, said fat comments don't bother her much now that she's in her own 40s, but can have when she was younger.
