A Leek woman has spoken of her joy after losing greater than seven stones in weight in just 16 months.

Rosslyn Harrison of Charnwood Close was almost 19 stones when she decided to do anything with her weight.

Mrs Harrison, aged 58, said: "I am big. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and then told I'd diabetes.

"I couldn't get clothes to fit me. It Leisure 18 Slimming Coffee reached the stage where I was simply getting too big and it was in a size 26, and my life was being a nightmare. It was i quickly chose to do something.

"The first thing I did was to visit the Slimming World group at St Luke's Church in Leek where they have been brilliant beside me."

Mrs Harrison said it was challenging for her at the start, but that you had to teach yourself to eat much healthier food.

The mother of two daughters said: "I am now down to 11 stones 7lbs, however i am aiming for 11 stones. I feel brilliant and may go into shops to purchase clothes and may now walk much easier. One great relief is that a blood test has now shown that I have not got diabetes

"My relatives have said I should not lose anymore weight, but I am enjoying life more being slimmer."

Mrs Harrison now proudly shows off her two certificates after winning the woman of the season and also the biggest loser in class at the Slimming World group.

She added: "The hardest point was getting used to the food and what to complete.

"However, it has all been worthwhile."

Slimming World consultant, Emma Baker, who runs groups at St Luke's Church and Cheddleton Community Centre, said: "Rosslyn has lost greater than seven stones.

"It is not all plain sailing but Best Share Green Coffee we've been there to support her.

"It is so nice doing happy. I lost five stones in nine months that's why I came to be a consultant because I understand how far better and happier it can make people feel."
